David is a Chartered Engineer with an honours degree in Building Service Engineering. He is a leading member of his profession, promoting innovative, energy-efficient designs through lectures and papers to clients and fellow professionals.
David has developed many pioneering techniques within this industry, including chilled ceilings, ice thermal storage, low temperature air conditioning, desiccant dehumidification /adiabatic cooling and fan assisted VAV systems, receiving awards for energy efficient designs.
David takes a very hands-on approach to our engineering commissions, and is responsible for developing strategic design concepts to achieve our client’s requirements. His experience over many years enables him to provide the best and most appropriate solutions to the most challenging of projects, and has on many occasions made the crucial difference, making borderline buildings economically viable.
David heads up our Environmental engineering company
Ian is a widely experienced building services engineer, having worked with leaders in both the contracting and consultancy fields. He is well versed with the commercial issues associated with the building process, and maintains close control over the details of designs produced by the Practice.
Ian’s expertise encompasses many sectors of the industry, including commercial and public sector buildings, healthcare, education and pharmaceuticals. He can offer an in-depth technical and commercial knowledge of environmentally friendly air conditioning techniques, including desiccant de-humidification, chilled beams and chilled ceilings. In addition to his technical abilities, Ian’s strong management style has proved invaluable in the implementation of fast track projects, where he has earned an enviable reputation for achieving ‘on time, within budget’ results.
An Associate of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers, Ian has built a position of status within the industry.
Peter is a Chartered Engineer with an honours degree in electrical and electronic engineering, and holds membership of numerous professional bodies. He can offer the benefits of his extensive experience in both contracting and consultancy, which has included many major projects in the UK and worldwide.
Peter’s innate drive and commitment to Client satisfaction is well known, and has served him well in the execution of complex projects to tight programmes.
His comprehensive knowledge of the technical, financial and risk control issues associated with high resilience power supply and distribution systems has gained him a reputation as an expert in these fields. He has designed and managed many significant projects, ranging from financial dealing houses, shopping malls, distribution centres, schools and hospitals, through to large residential schemes.
Peter has developed techniques for the implementation of information technology within the built environment and has lectured to his fellow professionals on this subject.
Neil has a proven track record within the building services industry. He has extensive experience in the management of projects and producing design packages that meet the expectations of his Clients’.
Neil utilises his many years of working as part of a large design team for a major contracting company to bring his commercial awareness to the forefront of his designs.
Neil’s experience encompasses many sectors of the industry including commercial, pharmaceutical and education projects. Neil’s hand’s on approach to management of projects ensures he is involved from concept to successful completion, thus ensuring client satisfaction.
Paul started his industry career in 1981 with Haden Young Ltd, serving a four year building services design apprenticeship achieving a HND in Building Services Engineering. Upon completion of this he quickly progressed into running his own projects.
His primary background is mechanical services but has good healthy knowledge in most areas of the building services installations
He has gained varied experience throughout his career working on varied projects and all aspects of installations including hospitals, laboratories, cold rooms, kitchens and restaurants and commercial and residential developments.
Paul has worked in both the contracting and consultancy sectors and is able to bring his experience in Project Management skills to the projects under his control.
Paul joined Long and Partners in 2001 strengthening our Project Management division and has completed many varied projects across all business sectors.
His most recent completed projects include major developments for Land Securities, Mace, Aldi and Henderson Global Investments.
A progressive career which has provided a highly developed professional working knowledge of the Engineering environment. Experience has been gained operating from both practical and administrative standpoints on multi-million pound contracts in the UK and abroad.
Appointments have included those of Senior Contract Engineer, Senior Project Engineer and Building Engineering Manager. Responsibilities have encompassed diverse aspects of Management, including control of design, Co-ordination and supervision of installations, estimating, tender surveys and preparation of bids. Liaison at all levels, planning and preparations, preparation of drawings, material take-off, evaluation of quotations and subsequent placing of orders, quality control through to final accounts, testing, commissioning and maintenance of documentation systems.
Will has been a key member of staff for the past 10 years and has delivered many complex projects.
Kyron started his career as a Electrical Contractor at Bellwest Electrical Contractors and London Borough of Islington, gaining knowledge and experience in electrical contracting field.
His career progressed into electrical consultancy working for Oscar Faber (AECOM) and Scott Wilson (URS Scott Wilson). During his time at these consultancies he worked on various projects including new build projects, office refurbishments, pharmaceutical containment, laboratories, Military installations for USAF, schools, London Fire Brigade, young offender secure units, university refurbishment projects, data simulation laboratories and conditional surveys.
Kyron joined Long and Partners in November 2011 and since has been involved in several projects which draw in his wide experience in the electrical engineering industry.
Tim is our Associate Public Health Director with over 30 years experience in the Building Services industry. During his career Tim has gained a wide range of experience of projects in the varying areas of the construction industry, including commercial, leisure, education, retail, residential and rail.
He is responsible for the design and management of the Public Health Services for Long and Partners this includes underground drainage, sanitation and rainwater disposal systems, hot and cold water supplies including water treatment, sprinkler systems, hosereel and wet/dry riser installations.
He is also fully conversant with BREEAM requirements with regard to water supplies and has experience of all aspects of SUDS including rainwater and grey water system re-use.
Kim is a German born highly motivated and success driven Engineer, a highly respected professional with “can do and right first time” mentality. He is enthusiastic, hardworking and has the ability to lead, guide and motivate at all levels. He is committed to safety and is used to be continually meeting on time and on budget deliveries in continuous improvement and critical environments whilst ensuring highest client satisfaction. Providing full range of design, engineering, project/ programme management and client solutions. Kim is a team player and individual, leading by example with vast experience in many fields of the Construction and Building Services Industry.
During the years of his professional life Kim has been exposed to a number of fields within the Electrical Contracting Industry including commercial, educational, light industrial and in the past few years very extensively the healthcare sectors. Mental Health Projects worked on include Rampton Hospital or Arnold Lodge with new build and refurbishment work. Healthcare Projects throughout the country including multidisciplinary D&B projects for Imaging Suites, Theatres and general Hospital areas. Educational projects with new build and refurbishment work for Universities in the Midlands including Academy works and BSF. All the above include a full cross section of installation methods, systems and services from distribution strategy to lighting, small power, controls and specialist services, UPS and IPS systems, medical pendant and earthing systems for medical locations.
Kim’s experience back in Germany include design and installation of educational and commercial projects including lighting, KNX, EnOcean and other specialist services systems also incl fire rated cabling installation and distribution systems comprising associated approved containment systems to EN-standard.
André is an enthusiastic and naturally driven engineer with over 20 year experience of various aspects of building services engineering design that encompass both HVAC and Public Health design. A skilled engineer who has worked on many and often complex projects in the past and have been involved in the successful delivery of many of these projects.
André has good communication skills and an engineer who is passionate in incorporating innovative and sustainable energy system design on his projects. He is a practical engineer with attention to detail and who believes in obtaining the most suitable solution for each unique project.
André has gained experience of working on large and iconic international design projects and performing the role of lead mechanical engineer on several of these projects. This included Jumeirah Wellness Resort in Dubai with HOK Architects, Tripoli Towers in Libya and The Peoples Conference Hall in Libya with Zaha Hadid Architects.
André was also a co-author on a Published Paper – Applied Thermal Comfort Control (SET 2015 Submission 16)
Sasi started his career as an Electrical Engineer at G. K. Salter’s Building Services Consultancy, thus gaining knowledge of electrical services design. During his time at G. K. Salter he worked in various Home Office, Schools and Office Refurbishment projects and gained his Electrical Engineering knowledge in Lighting, Small Power, Fire Alarm, Lightning Protection and UPS systems.
Sasi joined Long and Partners in May 2001 and since has taken on numerous projects utilising his organised and analytical mind to help ensure that project deadlines and Client requirements are met within fast track environments.
He has worked on a range of prestigious projects including the Westfield Shopping Centre for which he won an award for interior lighting design.
Allan began his career in building services in 1988 working in the drawing office and test laboratory of Waterloo Air Products, and obtained a BSc in Environmental Engineering.
Allan then worked for Whitbread plc (who at the time was the third largest property operator in the country) for ten years, designing and specifying mechanical services for the model restaurants, pubs and hotels being developed by Whitbread. He also ran the company energy efficiency programme and carried out trouble shooting of existing installations.
Allan joined Foreman Roberts for eleven years, designing services for hotels, offices, luxury residential, a data centre, pharmaceutical projects for Oxford university, airport terminals and the refurbishment of the centre court at Wimbledon.
Allan then worked for Silcock Dawson designing mechanical services for residential developments, hotels, and offices; before moving to Bailey Associates to design services for schools, housing developments and an equestrian centre.
Allan joined Long & Partner in December 2013 and has been working on Office, residential and retail projects. He has an extensive understanding of building services and takes a practical approach which allows him to develop workable and coordinated designs.
In 1999, Paul successfully completed a four year Building Services degree.
In the period 1997 to 1998 Paul worked for RTJ Environmental Services as an M&E Design Engineer. During this period he gained significant experience in the design and co-ordination of services. He become proficient with the application of Engineering Software including Hevacomp and ‘Cymap’ design programme’s and AutoCad.
Following the completion of his degree he went on to join Long and Partners in the autumn of 1999.
Paul is responsible for Mechanical Design with an active role from feasibility, production of detailed design drawings, tender documentation, through to witnessing and commissioning of air and water systems.
He has extensive experience of commercial office, residential and retail, new build and refurbishment projects.
Paul has also undertaken designs for Pharmaceutical, Education and Healthcare project works for both the end user Client and main contractor Client. The various projects have involved heavily serviced buildings such as Pharmaceutical through to low energy building designs incorporating mixed mode systems such as those used in schools
Mike commenced his career in building services in 1980 with Troup Bywaters and Anders and completed a three year apprenticeship. During this period Mike worked mainly on large hospital projects.
Mike moved to Essex County Council where the majority of time was spent with the design of large boiler installations and computer room air conditioning systems.
Mike joined Long and Partners in 2001 and has worked on many varied projects from inception to completion. Projects have included major new build and refurbishment office projects, research laboratory schemes and specialised computer room cooling incorporating energy saving designs.
These projects have all included a high degree of co-ordination and effective and efficient use of plant space.
Paul started his career with ‘Lorne Stewart’ in September 2000 as a Junior Electrical Engineer, obtaining a HNC in Building Services. Paul worked on various projects while with Lorne Stewart, Hotels, Luxury apartments, Offices, etc gaining knowledge of lighting, power, lighting control systems and fire alarms both in the design office and on site.
Paul then went to Australia, working in Sydney and in Perth for ‘United Group Limited.’ There he worked on Lane Cove Tunnel, and Perth Metro Rail, dealing with Cable distribution systems.
Paul joined Long and Partners in Oct 2007. Since then he has progressed to a Senior Electrical Engineer obtaining a BEng (Hons) degree in Building Services. He is a keen member of the design team developing holistic building services solutions, considering all aspects of the building design.
Paul is responsible for leading the electrical design. He has a strong understanding of building services and a practicable approach allowing him to develop robust, workable and fully coordinated solutions. Paul has a great interest in buildings and his approachable nature make him a key part of the design team.
After finishing his studies at Industrial Engineers University in Bilbao (Spain) in 2002, Jon started to work for one of the leading Spanish Engineering consultancies (SENER) where he gained electrical knowledge and experience in the industrial and civil fields. During this time he acquired expertise in MV and LV electrical distribution systems, electrical protection and UPS systems.
In 2008 Jon joined Long and Partners where he has developed his understanding of Building Services Engineering, developing his skills and knowledge in lighting, fire alarms systems, lightning protection, generators and SCADA controls systems design.
He has extensive experience of commercial office, residential and pharmaceutical both new build and refurbishment projects.
Wojciech started with Long and Partners as Public Health Engineer in 2006. He completed his University studies in Warsaw in the field of Environmental Engineering specialising in Sanitary, Water and Land Reclamation engineering, and achieved his Masters degree in 2006. His Engineering design skills include hot and cold water services, sanitary plumbing and rainwater disposal systems both above and below ground.
